Pisum sativum. Maincrop Wrinkled-seed variety. Introduced by Carters of London in 1878, a selection of 'Telegraph' and another old variety ‘Duke of Albany’. Also known as "Alderman". A main crop variety that requires support as it will climb to about 220cm. The pods are large (up to 20cm) and jam-packed with eight to nine peas each. Very productive and good for eating fresh or freezing.
