Basil - Herb , Dark Red Purple Leaf

Ocimum basilicum var. purpureum, A unique Dark Purple Red variety, with large deep purple pointed leaves that are smooth, flat & large, about (1”) long & grow profusely with a sweet flavour. An attractive addition to the garden as an upright bushy plant to about 12 inches with a host of tiny purple flowers in summer. Makes a colourful alternative to the common green basil in a wide range of dishes, including salads, pasta, pizza, and tomato dishes, or in the garden as a companion plant to repel aphids & mites.
