Lactuca sativa, (Romaine) Sweet & Crisp, Also known as Sucrine or Sugar Cos, is one of the earliest maturing and one of the best tasting varieties of lettuce available & most trouble-free lettuce you can grow.. This compact cultivar of Romaine lettuce combines the succulent sweetness of a butterhead with its small size. The glossy-leafed heads reach a petite 6 inches in height and 4 inches in width, making them perfect for individual dinner salads and ideal for inclusion in sandwiches. This variety demonstrates some tolerance to downy mildew. It matures quickly and can be grown in containers , open ground or harvested as cut-and-come-again., Seed Count Approx - 350 avg 

 SOWING - Sow in a unheated greenhouse or protected area outside, all thru the year making succession plantings every 1-2 weeks to ensure a constant harvest. Always harvest lettuce very early in the morning, Maturity 68 days Seed Depth: sow thinly and just lightly covered (5 to 10 days to emerge) Note: Lettuce will not germinate at high temperatures.
