A normal looking green veg, a bit like skinny asparagus or cactus, reveals itself in all its sea-flavoured, salty glory. Not a ludicrous foreign import or food fad but a native to the UK, growing wild on salty mudflats & marshy shallows & foraged at low tide, late spring thru summer. It is eaten raw or delicious lightly steamed & served with butter. Once growing it will need a daily dose of saltwater as is its nature. Although a hardy Annual will benefit with winter protection.
