Salicornia europaea L., Grows Wild on Salty Mudflat & Marshy hallows, When first tasted, you will swoon with happiness. A normal looking green veg, a bit like skinny asparagus or cactus, reveals itself in all its sea-flavoured, salty glory. Not a ludicrous foreign import or food fad but a native to the UK, growing wild on salty mudflats & marshy shallows & foraged at low tide, late spring thru summer. It is eaten raw or delicious lightly steamed & served with butter. Once growing it will need a daily dose of saltwater as is its nature. Although a hardy Annual will benefit with winter protection. Ht: 2 to 3 in, Seed Count Approx - 200+ avg 

  SOWING - Sow April to Aug thinly insitu in a pot or in the garden where it will stay, from seedling stage keep moist with normal water. Once mature and picking, use a solution of 1 tsp. salt to a pint of water. From late summer stop harvest & allow re-growth for winter
