Zea mays, Plump and Very Sweet, (F1) Ambrosia Sweet Corn is a hybrid, sugary-enhanced variety with a beautiful, two-tone, White and Yellow bicolour appearance and an even better taste. In Greek mythology, ambrosia was known as “the food of the gods,” and this sweet corn doesn’t disappoint. Plants grow to 6.5′ tall with ears that are 8 inches long and 2 inches in diameter. Cobs have a checkerboard appearance of both white and yellow kernels. Ambrosia is a great variety for fresh eating with an excellent traditional Sweetcorn taste. SOWING - Early sowing indoors is best in early spring Late Feb to May, indoor or under cloches in pots with good protection, A warm windowsill is best, Sow 1.5cm deep one in each pot. Keep warm & water lightly, DO NOT OVER-WATER, Germination approx 7-21 days. Plant out in block formation May-July, into well-cultivated, fertile soil, when frosts are over. Harvest Sept to Oct just as tassels start to show.
