Sweet Corn , Moonshine 'Yellow' (New to Us)

Zea mays saccharata, A Super Sweet Juicy Light Golden Cob, Moonshine F1 - A super sweet variety, and one of the best tasting varieties we've tried... the plants are tall and strong producing attractive 3-5 cobs on each plant, with good tip cover and very little shank.  This Sh2 Yellow type (Very sweet) produces high yields of 20cm ears with between 14-18 rows of, good deep full kernels and good sugars, together with its outstanding cold soil emergence, it has proven itself well adapted in widespread US trials from Florida in the south, California in the west to New York in the East. Days to Maturity: 78, At harvest allow kernels to mature fully for maximum flavour and sweetness , 22-25 days after silking before picking. Hand harvest only., Seed Count Approx - 12 avg 

  SOWING - Early sowing indoors is best in early spring Late Feb to May, indoor or under cloches in pots with good protection, , plant shallow into warm soils. A warm windowsill is best, Sow 1.5cm deep one in each pot. Keep warm & water lightly, DO NOT OVER-WATER, Germination Approx 7-21 days. Plant out in block formation May-July, into well-cultivated, fertile warm soil, when frosts are over. Harvest Sept to Oct just as tassels start to show.
