Perennial Portuguese Kale. A kale/cabbage relative with a stout 60cm tall stem and broad, wavy, blueish leaves similar to kale, but its loose-leaf leaves are more the style and colour of a flathead cabbage, but a bit fleshier. Its sweet flavour falls between Russian Kale and cabbage, with some of the body of kale but less mustard or sulphur often found in cabbage. Will continuously grow as long as side shoots are picked and the top of the main stalk is not cut. A short-lived perennial. Priced for a young plant in a 1 litre pot. Please note at this time of year the plants may show some damage to the leaves when received.
