Shiny or Chinese Bugleweed, Lycopus lucidus

Lysopus lucidus - Perennial member of the Lamiaceae family, growing to around 1 metre tall. White flowers in July/August with seeds ripening from August to November. Good in a damp climate in part shade. Priced for 3 rhizomes

Use: The rhizomes are boiled, or preserved in salt in both China and Japan. The texture is similar to water chestnuts, being juicy and crisp. Also used in tradtional Chinese medicine and said to promote blood circulation and improve energy
